brand new blog!

well quite a few folks have asked me to create a blog so they can see what's new here on the farm and in the yarn studios, so, grin, here it is!
let me first introduce myself to you, i am sandy (yes i rarely use caps, why bother? my mind works faster than my typing, lol) the owner and chief handmaiden of a group of much loved alpacas, rabbits, sheep and goats who all live on our rural minnesota family farm. okay so not much unique there, EXCEPT (notice the caps that means this next sentence is important, grin), i make unique designer yarns from our beloved livestock's fiber, and sell the yarns and the fibers and even some hand made goods too.
our websites are-
www.notjustyarns.com
and
www.glacialridgealpacas.com
i hope you'll enjoy this blog and check out our websites too!

todays crafts and goodies

today it was super hot, we're talking 98 degrees and 84 % humidity, not at all what this minnesota lady likes at all, nor what her farm critters like either. the alpacas spent most of the afternoon dosing in the shade on the grass under the trees, half asleep and seemingly rather content. the goats complained all the time, while hiding under their trees and then under the food bins, simon the cow spent the day in his hut, only coming out for his bottle then going back, and the sheepies, well the sheepies dosed in the big water bin, not caring if anyone else was thirsty at all(good thing we keep 3 water bowls out there under the big oak for them all to share)... but i did these in the cooler house-

a bunch of grilled chicken wings with a dozen different toppings/dipping sauces and a big fresh garden salad for dinner and now i'm on my way to be settled in front of the tv with my knitting while mother nature waters the garden while rumbling and breaking the heat for the night
