brand new blog!

well quite a few folks have asked me to create a blog so they can see what's new here on the farm and in the yarn studios, so, grin, here it is!
let me first introduce myself to you, i am sandy (yes i rarely use caps, why bother? my mind works faster than my typing, lol) the owner and chief handmaiden of a group of much loved alpacas, rabbits, sheep and goats who all live on our rural minnesota family farm. okay so not much unique there, EXCEPT (notice the caps that means this next sentence is important, grin), i make unique designer yarns from our beloved livestock's fiber, and sell the yarns and the fibers and even some hand made goods too.
our websites are-
www.notjustyarns.com
and
www.glacialridgealpacas.com
i hope you'll enjoy this blog and check out our websites too!

some farm pictures today...

this is what i have always called the blood lily, my grandmother back in philadelphia grew them and when she died my mom dug up one bulb for me before they sold the house, it's a rich deep red and grows really well up here-
and it's planted next to my stella dora bright yellow lilies that just keep on blooming!

it's dragonfly season up here now, i adore these little prehistoric helicopters besides being friendly and curious they eat their own weight in bugs every day! here's just one kind that are here now-
pine cones that you'll see in my seasonal crafts will come from this smaller tree/bush besides the huge tree out the side of the house..i've forgotten the name of it but it's the soft friendly kind of leaves/spikes...
