brand new blog!

well quite a few folks have asked me to create a blog so they can see what's new here on the farm and in the yarn studios, so, grin, here it is!
let me first introduce myself to you, i am sandy (yes i rarely use caps, why bother? my mind works faster than my typing, lol) the owner and chief handmaiden of a group of much loved alpacas, rabbits, sheep and goats who all live on our rural minnesota family farm. okay so not much unique there, EXCEPT (notice the caps that means this next sentence is important, grin), i make unique designer yarns from our beloved livestock's fiber, and sell the yarns and the fibers and even some hand made goods too.
our websites are-

and

i hope you'll enjoy this blog and check out our websites too!

dinner!Grilled Chicken with Chipotle-Peach Glaze

Grilled Chicken with Chipotle-Peach Glaze

Perk up grilled chicken breasts with sweet peach preserves and smoky chipotle chiles(careful this one is pretty spicey!). From eatbetteramerica.
Prep Time:30 min
Start to Finish:30 min
makes:8 servings(i cut this recipe in half easily)
1/2cup peach preserves(i used sugar free preserves)
1/4cup lime juice
1canned chipotle chile in adobo sauce, seeded, chopped
1teaspoon adobo sauce (from can of chiles)
2tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
8boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 2 1/2 lb)
1teaspoon garlic-pepper blend
1/2teaspoon ground cumin
1/2teaspoon salt
4peaches, cut in half and pitted, if desired(i used only 2 since i had already eaten the other two, sighs)

Cilantro sprigs
1.Heat gas or charcoal grill. In 1-quart saucepan, mix preserves, lime juice, chile and adobo sauce. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, until preserves are melted. Stir in chopped cilantro; set aside. Sprinkle chicken with garlic-pepper blend, cumin and salt.
2.Place chicken on grill. Cover grill; cook over medium heat 15 to 20 minutes, turning once or twice and brushing with preserves mixture during last 2 minutes of grilling, until juice of chicken is clear when center of thickest part is cut (170°F). Add peach halves to grill for last 2 to 3 minutes of grilling just until heated.
3.Heat any remaining preserves mixture to boiling; boil and stir 1 minute. Serve with chicken and peaches. Garnish with cilantro sprigs.
